Spotify Premium in Argentina: price of each plan and how to pay for it

Spotify Premium in Argentina

Every time Spotify adjusts prices in Argentina, searches skyrocket and the numbers circulating on social media become outdated in weeks.

The problem usually isn't finding the list price, but rather understanding how much it ends up costing per person and what taxes are added at the end, because that's where the difference becomes concrete.

Download the belo app and check out how to manage your payments in pesos from an account with a balance, according to your account and current terms.

How much Spotify Premium really costs in Argentina

These are the prices that Spotify publishes on its Argentina site (consulted in October 2026), in pesos and before taxes.

Available plans and cost per person

Plan

Monthly price (excluding taxes)

Cost per person (excluding taxes)

Individual

ARS 4,499

ARS 4,499

Duo (2 people)

ARS 5,999

ARS 2,999.50

Family (up to 6 people)

ARS 7,599

ARS 1,266.50

Student

ARS 2,299

ARS 2,299

Those numbers change the equation depending on the actual size of the group. A couple that signs up for Duo saves 33% compared to paying for two individual plans.

If the Family plan is filled with six people, the cost per person drops by almost 72% compared to the Individual plan.

The best Spotify Argentina price depends directly on how many people will use the plan, because a Family plan with only two active members is less cost-effective than a Duo plan.

Pesos, taxes, and what appears on your statement

Spotify lists its price in pesos, but without taxes: its official page clarifies this with a "+ applicable taxes".

When paying with an Argentine card, the financial press reported that 21% VAT and a 30% advance withholding tax on Income Tax are added, as well as a Gross Income tax (Ingresos Brutos) of around 2% in some provinces.

The PAIS tax was discontinued in December 2024, but that withholding tax remains in effect.

With VAT and the withholding tax, the $4,499 Individual plan costs around $7,077; the $5,999 Duo, about $9,436; the $7,599 Family, about $11,953; and the $2,299 Student plan, about $3,616.

These are estimated calculations without Gross Income tax: the exact amount depends on your tax situation and your province, and it appears on your statement.

In addition to taxes, prices are adjusted frequently. It's a good idea to check the amount every few months, because increases usually come via an email notification that can get lost in your inbox.

If you use a digital wallet like belo, the prepaid Mastercard works for payments in pesos, which can be useful if you prefer to keep your subscriptions separate from your bank card.

For Spotify, which charges Argentine accounts in pesos, the natural choice is a card issued in the country: cards issued abroad, such as the belo LUX, may be rejected by local subscriptions that require a domestic card.

How to pay for Spotify without a credit card

Those who don't have a credit card or prefer not to link it have alternatives, although it's best to confirm which ones are enabled on your account before choosing a plan.

Debit cards issued in Argentina work as a payment method, just like credit cards.

In addition, Spotify announced in 2020 the option to pay for the Individual plan in cash at Rapipago and Pago Fácil; since that is an old announcement, check your account's payment section to see if that option is still available.

Virtual prepaid cards can also solve the issue, as several Argentine fintechs issue cards that are funded via bank transfer or CVU.

The key is for the card to have sufficient balance on the charge date, because if the payment fails, the service may be suspended until the balance is settled. Some platforms reject certain prepaid cards, so it's a good idea to test it out before relying on it.

This same mechanism works for other platforms: people who want to pay for Netflix without withholdings often use virtual cards for the same reason.

Payment methods for Spotify in Argentina

  • Debit and credit cards issued in Argentina process the charge in pesos, with taxes included on the statement

  • Cash payment at Rapipago and Pago Fácil was announced by Spotify in 2020; check your account to see if it is still available

  • Virtual prepaid cards from Argentine fintechs are funded by bank transfer or CVU, although some may be rejected

Spotify vs. YouTube Premium and Apple Music

Comparing Spotify's Family plan with alternatives helps you make a more informed decision, always keeping an eye on the final price with taxes.

YouTube Premium includes ad-free YouTube and YouTube Music, which makes it a different proposition if video consumption is just as important to you as audio.

Apple Music integrates more seamlessly into the Apple ecosystem, and Android users may experience more friction.

Spotify usually stands out for its personalized recommendations and the number of supported third-party devices, from smart speakers to consoles.

YouTube Premium wins if you already spend hours on YouTube and want to eliminate ads on both services with a single payment.

Which service is right for you based on your habits

  • If your family group includes users with different devices and platforms, Spotify tends to be the most flexible option

  • If everyone uses an iPhone and a Mac, Apple Music integrates with fewer steps and without additional friction

  • If video consumption is just as important as music, YouTube Premium may provide more value for the price

It's also worth considering how you pay for each service. Platforms like Steam have their own tax logic, and understanding taxes on Steam purchases can help you calculate the real cost of each digital subscription in Argentina.

Frequently asked questions about Spotify Premium in Argentina: plan prices and how to pay

Does the price shown by Spotify include taxes?

No. Spotify's official website in Argentina displays the price with the note "+ applicable taxes", so the amount on your statement is higher.

Can Spotify's price go up without notice?

Spotify notifies users of price changes by email before applying them, but that email can get lost in your inbox. Checking the charged amount every few months is the safest way to catch price adjustments in time.

How many people can use the Spotify Family plan in Argentina?

The Family plan supports up to six accounts, provided all members live at the same address. Spotify may request address verification to activate or maintain the plan.

What happens if my prepaid card doesn't have a balance on the charge date?

If the payment cannot be processed, Spotify may retry and, if it fails to collect, suspend the Premium plan until you update your payment method and settle the account.

Does the Spotify Student plan require annual renewal?

Yes, Spotify requires you to verify your university student status periodically. If verification is not completed within the specified period, the account loses the student rate.

Can I use an Argentine Spotify account from abroad?

Spotify allows you to use your account from abroad temporarily, but if it detects that you permanently reside in another country, it may request that you update your account region, which would change the applicable prices.
