Monotributo July 2025: how to know if you need to recategorize to avoid fines and new payment amounts

July is not just the middle of the year, it’s the month when you have to review your Monotributo category, and doing it right can help you avoid fines and headaches. From July 15 to August 5, do the review with the new limits; if you don’t, ARCA can reclassify you on its own between August 6 and 20.
How do I know if I need to recategorize in July 2025?
During the recategorization, you compare your activity from July 1, 2024 to June 30, 2025 with the new table in effect from August 1. The main parameters are:
Total gross income (E invoices issued in foreign currency to foreign clients are calculated at the official dollar rate)
If you have a location: energy consumption, square meters, and rents
New Monotributo billing limits
The annual billing limit for Monotributo will increase from 82 to 95 million pesos in the highest category and to 9 million in the lowest category. The fees for all categories will also increase between 15.3 and 15.6 percent.
What will the new Monotributo categories be in August 2025?
Category A: $8.992.597,87
Category B: $13.175.201,52
Category C: $18.473.166,15
Category D: $22.934.610,05
Category E: $26.977.793,60
Category F: $33.809.379,57
Category G: $40.431.835,35
Category H: $61.344.853,64
Category I: $68.664.410,05
Category J: $78.632.948,76
Category K: $94.805.682,90
The monthly fees would rise by between 15.3 and 15.6 percent. Thus, Category A will go from $32.221 to a little over $37.000. B will rise from $36.679 to a bit more than $42.000. And so on up to the highest category. The new amounts apply from August through January 2026.
Once ARCA publishes the new tables, Monotributo taxpayers will be able to recategorize.
Step by step to recategorize yourself
Log in to ARCA’s Monotributo Portal with your tax ID (CUIT) and tax password.
When can you recategorize: from 7/15 to 8/5
Select “Recategorize me” and enter your billing and parameters.
The system compares and suggests your correct category.
Review carefully before confirming.
What happens if I don’t recategorize on time in ARCA?
ARCA can reclassify you on its own, from August 6 through 20, based on your registered activity (bank accounts, cards, spending).
Automatic recategorization generates notifications to the Electronic Tax Domicile within 10 business days and gives you 15 days to appeal.
If you’re changed automatically, the new fee applies from August through January of the following year.
If you exceed the limit for the highest category (K), ARCA can automatically exclude you from the simplified regime.
Why is it key to stay up to date with Monotributo for freelancers and contractors?
Getting paid from abroad can make your income vary a lot from month to month, and if you don’t keep track, you can end up in the wrong category.
If you don’t track your expenses and spending, you may end up in the wrong category or be automatically recategorized.
Reviewing and recategorizing yourself on time avoids fines, interest, and penalties.
